Katherine Schwarzenegger, who is a stepmother to her husband Chris Pratt’s son, Jack, from his previous relationship with Anna Faris shared the secret behind her positive stepparenting experience.
In a candid interview the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver revealed that before tying the knot with her now husband, she hired a step-parenting coach.
On Tuesday, July 15, the author who made a joint appearance with the Guardians of the Galaxy star on Parenting & You With Dr. Shefali podcast, stated, “Number one thing I say is get a step parenting therapist or step parenting coach, because I got that right when we got engaged, and it’s been incredibly helpful for me and also just understanding my role as a step parent.”
Furthermore, the 35-year-old animal advocate who welcomed three kids with the American actor said, “She’s been essential to me with everything, just like how to communicate, how to also think of yourself in the role because step parenting, like parenting, has no handbook.”
Moreover, she mentioned that stepparenting is challenging as you're neither a “parent” nor a “nanny.”
For the unversed, apart from Jack, the 46-year-old actor is also a father of three kids four-year-old Lyla Maria, two-year-old Eloise Christina, and eight-month-old Ford Fitzgerald, whom he shares with his current wife, Katherine.
Katherine Schwarzenegger first encountered her spouse Chris Pratt at Zoe Church in Los Angeles.
