Jon Stewart steps in to defend Stephen Colbert after Trump’s dig

It as announced by Stephen Colbert on Friday that his long running talk show, The Late Show, will end in May 2026.

The decision was explained as a financial one however, fans believe it was more than that as some employees said it is a part of “Trump Shakedown”.

After the United States President, Donald Trump, took a jab at the announcement, other talk show hosts, who have been vocal about their opposition of Trump, stepped in to defend Stephen.

Jon Stewart hit out at the channel in his monologue on his own show, The Daily Show.

“We are all basically operating a Blockbuster kiosk inside of a Tower Records. But when your industry is faced with changes, you don’t just call it a day.”, Jon began.

He joked that if CDs stop selling, we do not just forget music and say “Oh, well, music, it’s been a good run”.

Trump also took hits at Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon in his recent post.
