Nicki Minaj, SZA’s dramatic social media spat explained

Nicki Minaj and SZA unexpectedly blew up at each other on social media over a seemingly harmless post made by the latter.

The Seek & Destroy singer, who is currently co-headlining the Grand National Tour with Kendrick Lamar had made an astrology centered post, which she claimed was targeted at no one in particular.

In her post that started it all, the SOS hitmaker wrote on X (formerly Twitter) “Mercury retrograde .. don’t take the bait lol silly goose.”

The Anaconda hitmaker, who had made a post on the platform not long before her about Terrence “Punch” Henderson, a former, longtime collaborator of SZA, took the planetary alignment tweet as a dig aimed at herself.

Nicki then replied to the Saturn singer’s initial tweet by writing, “Go draw your freckles back on bookie, Liar liar pants on fire. Sounding like a fkng dead dog,” with the hashtags #JusticeForDemoree #DepositionPerez.

Although the tags are unrelated, they are alluding to the drama between parties of Roc Nation, Desiree Perez and Demoree Hadley.

The feud quickly escalated, with the two singers dissing each other in multiple posts.

The Trinidadian rapper remarked that the Snooze hitmaker draws on her freckles, as well as claiming that she was more successful and popular than the latter.

In response SZA defended herself, before seemingly ending the public spat by saying that she wanted to go back to being calm, shy and meek, and being hopeful to seeing fans in Paris.
