Could Prince William and Prince Harrys feud topple the monarchy? Expert warns

A royal expert has issued a stark warning to Prince William, saying he must end his feud with Prince Harry or risk “incalculable damage” to the monarchy itself.

Andrew Norman Wilson, writing in the Daily Mail, said that with King Charles eventually stepping aside, William’s reign could face an unprecedented crisis if the brothers remain estranged.

He predicted that Harry, exiled in California and “on non-speakers with the sovereign but with a potential audience of billions,” could inflict serious harm on the monarchy.

Wilson argued it would be far better to “bring the Sussexes in from the cold” than risk future revelations.

“Both sides should be seeking not only diplomatic and political help, but personal counsel,” he urged.

The columnist also acknowledged Harry’s struggles growing up, pointing to the brothers’ childhood trauma: their parents’ broken marriage, the death of Princess Diana, and relentless media speculation about Harry’s paternity, factors that could explain Harry’s long-standing sense of inferiority.

Since stepping down as senior royals in 2020, Harry and Meghan Markle have made headlines with their Oprah interview, the Netflix docu-series Harry & Meghan, and Harry’s bombshell memoir, Spare.

Wilson’s final warning was: “This row could one day begin the process that leads to a republic… and that could come much sooner than royalists might like to admit.”
