Connie Francis, who gained worldwide recognition from her breakthrough song Pretty Little Baby breathed her last at the age of 87.
On July 17, Francis' close friend Ron took to his Facebook account to announce the heartbreaking news, which reads, “It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that i inform you of the passing of my dear friend Connie Francis last night.”
This came weeks after the American pop singer shared that she’s feeling much better following her hospitalisation on July 4.
The statement added, “I know that Connie would approve that her fans are among the first to learn of this sad news. More details will follow later."
Shortly after Ron's social media update, fans rushed to the comments section to pay tribute to the late star.
One fan note wrote, “So sad to hear about the great Connie Francis. Paying musical tribute during the Heritage Chart Breakfast show...so many great songs...Lipstick on Your Collar, Where The Boys Are, Stupid Cupid, V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N, Whose Sorry Now & many, many more. Terrific career. Great legacy.”
“Rip Connie Francis 1937 - 2025. Goodbye to a true icon,” another commented.
A third penned, "That’s such a same. Listened to so many of her records over the years and my Mum used to sing her songs beautifully. R.I.P Connie Francis!"
It is pertinent to note that the late singer whose 1963 song Pretty Little Baby became a global sensation was hospitalized earlier this month in Florida due to severe pain.
