Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming movie Fantastic Four: First Steps is inching closer to its release, and fans are enthralled, but Pedro Pascal has his fears for the big release.
Pascal, who plays Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, stars alongside Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn in the film.
Recently, while speaking with the Associated Press about his nerves around joining the MCU, Pascal admitted, “I think maybe my nerves were bigger than they usually are.”
“I think that sometimes the outside will find you, no matter how much you try to protect yourself from it. It just comes with the territory,” he said.
The Last of Us star reflected on the weight of being part of a beloved franchise with a deeply devoted fanbase.
“I think I just was a little bit more sensitive to the love that people have for stories like this,” he added, “because I know that they wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the love that people have for these characters.”
The Hollywood A-lister’s highly anticipated role in the Marvel movie is, as he put it, keeping him up at night.
Pascal has become one of the most in-demand actors of his time. With lead roles in films like Eddington, Materialist, and Fantastic Four, he noted that this is the best time of his life.
“Just, I don’t know… look around, and it’s an incredible reflection of what I’m experiencing right now. I’m having a really amazing time,” he shared, speaking about his packed movie lineup this year.
Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theatres on July 25.
