Prince William and Kate Middleton’s absence from recent “peace talks” between Prince Harry and King Charles has raised eyebrows, and now a close friend of the heir to the throne is speaking out.
The informal meeting, held last week at London’s Royal Over-Seas League private club, saw senior aides from Harry’s camp, Meredith Maines and Liam Maguire, meet with Charles’ communications chief Tobyn Andreae.
While the secret summit was meant to be discreet, the group was photographed, leading to headlines and speculation.
But William and Kate’s camp was notably absent and according to a friend of the royal couple, that was no accident.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, the friend claimed: “It’s no coincidence that William and Catherine did not have a representative at the Royal Over-Seas League."
"They were not asked to send anyone and will be treating the talks with extreme caution. The fact that it ended up in the newspapers tells you all you need to know.”
The comment underscores the ongoing tensions between the brothers, who have reportedly not spoken properly since Harry’s bombshell memoir Spare was released in 2023.
While Harry has repeatedly said he wants reconciliation, William has kept a dignified silence, and sources say he remains wary of any olive branch from his brother’s team.
