Rapper Kevin Gates and his wife, Dreka Gates, officially ended their marriage after years of ups and downs.
Dreka reportedly initiated divorce proceedings on Wednesday, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.
The official papers also noted 10th July as the official date of separation.
For those unfamiliar, the couple had been together since 2003 and tied the knot in October 2015.
The pair made their last public appearance together in 2023 at the BET Awards.
This petition comes just months before what would have marked their tenth wedding anniversary.
The ex-partners also share two children, Islah, aged 12, and Khaza, aged 11.
Notably, Kevin’s ex-wife is seeking joint legal and physical custody of both minors.
Additionally, she has requested spousal support, while simultaneously asking the court to deny any such support to Kevin.
When asked for comment, a representative said the artist has "unfortunately" decided not to speak on the matter at this time.
Professionally, the American singer rose to prominence with his debut studio album Islah, which was released in January 2016 and reached number two on the US Billboard 200 chart.
