Jacksonville rapper Ksoo, born Hakeem Robinson has been found guilty of 1st degree murder in the shooting and consequent killing of Charles McCormick Jr.
The ruling came only a few hours after the guilty verdict for co-defendant Leroy Whitaker Jr., who is Robinson’s cousin.
With two separate juries for the two defendants, testimonies were heard for seven days before closing arguments, rebuttals and the judge’s instructions.
Both faced the accusations of shooting the victim at the Arlington shopping center about 11 a.m. on January 15, 2020.
The incident was witnessed by an off duty police officer who saw them standing over McCormick before shooting him and then escaping in a Nissan.
The officer gave chase to the vehicle, which crashed, followed by two of three people escaping and running into a house, holding the home owner hostage before calling for someone to get them.
The sentencing date for both of the defendants will be held on September 8.
After the end of this trial, Robinson will face another murder trial for the for the shooting and death of a 16 year old boy in 2019.
