Spiderman: Brand New Day kicked off filming in Glasgow, Scotland, after a last-minute location change.

The fourth movie in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man series was initially scheduled to shoot in Liverpool, but it was moved to Scotland due to tragic circumstances.

In conversation with The Sun, the producers changed the location because of the devastating Liverpool FC victory parade crash on May 26, which resulted in 109 people being injured.

A source told the outlet, “There were discussions about whether it was appropriate to stage big stunts, including car chases and explosions, in light of the awful incident.”

However, despite the sudden change in the plan, the crew transformed Glasgow into New York City with American flags and yellow taxis parked on the sidewalks.

Spiderman: Brand New Day is set right after the events of the previous film and follows Peter Parker as he leaves behind his superhero persona in exchange for a normal college life, until a new threat emerges in the city.

Notably, Tom Holland and Zendaya arrived at the set to reprise their roles as Spider-Man and MJ, after filming scenes for Christopher Nolan’s Odyssey.

The star-studded cast of the fourth installment includes Jacob Batalon, Charlie Cox, Sadie Sink, and Jon Bernthal.

Though details about the plot and release date haven’t been revealed yet, the film is slated for July 2026.
