Former England football captain David Beckham’s childhood dream is about to come true.
The footballer, who has made 115 appearances for the English team, will be awarded the knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours, according to ITV News.
To be named Knight or Dame is one of the highest honours in the United Kingdom.
According to many sources, the 50-year-old is set to be named in the King’s Birthday Honours List.
David has done many charitable endeavours outside of football, including working with Unicef and the King’s Foundation.
He joined the King’s Foundation as an ambassador in 2024, working for the King’s charity to further their education programme.
If the football legend receives the title, he will be referred to as Sir and his wife, Victoria Beckham, would become Lady Beckham.
David received was appointed an officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2003 -- a lower award in Britain’s honours system. Meanwhile Victoria received it for her services to the fashion industry.
