Eminem documentary ‘Stans’ to hit the theatres on August 7
‘Stans’ will be released in AMC theatres for limited run
A documentary based on the career of Marshall Bruce Mathers III, known professionally as Eminem will be exclusively released in AMC theatres only for 3 days i.e. from August 7 from August 10.
Titled Stans, the documentary follows the story of the American rapper’s famous song with the name Stan.
The song released in 2000 is about a fanatical fan named Stanley “Stan” Mitchell (voiced by Eminem) who considered himself as the rapper's biggest fan.
He writes Eminem several letters and is shown to be unhinged obsessive over the rapper and gets frustrated when there is no reply back to letters.
After this song, the word “stan” was referred to as being an obsessive, excessively enthusiastic and devoted fan. It was officially added to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) on June 17.
The film will explore the 15-time Grammy Award winner’s career through the eyes of his loyal fans.
Steven Leckart has directed the documentary and stated that it will investigate the “complicated relationship between one of the world’s most private artists and his massive public persona.”
There will be archival footage and new interviews to explore the different aspects of the Mocking Bird artist’s career.
Despite its limited run, the film will be launched globally on August 7, 2025, with 16,000 theatres expected to show the film across 50 territories.

Eminem is not currently married. Previously, he was married to Kimberley Anne Scott but they parted ways in 2006.
